I know that the practical step would have been to wait until the next school intake, when I had had more time to prepare for classes, and continue to work on my skills until then. But something in my GUT told me that this was the right path, and that the timing would never be perfect.
I also had the sneaking suspicion that if I had decided to wait 6 months to a year for the next intake, that I would regret the lost time. After all, I’ve waited YEARS to give this a go, why wait any longer? Sure it was going to be hard work, but I’ve never been scared of that, and it was always going to be hard.
Except it wasn’t that hard. It was INCREDIBLY interesting! The time flew by, and I think any nerves that my boss might have had about me not being constantly in the office seemed to dissipate as it became obvious that people didn’t even notice I wasn’t at my desk for a large chunk of what would be considered “normal” working hours (although there were plenty of other crazies working late to catch up on things so it would seem I’m not the only super busy person!).
I’m VERY excited about my first pattern making class today… BRING IT ON!
The gold is way down below, further down than you thought you could ever dig.
When you push yourself to the very edges of your comfort zone, or where you ever thought you could possibly get to. That’s when you find out what you’re made of, that you are capable of so much more than you thought, and find your own personal brand of magic.
So dig deep, dig all the way to the bottom, and then dig some more.
You CAN do it. You are capable of absolutely everything you heart and soul desires. We are all capable of amazing things, we just have to keep pushing goddamit!
You can have exactly what you want, but you have to start now. DON’T STOP until you get there.
As much as we might want our goals when we first lock them in and decide to go for gold, sometimes it’s easy to lose track and forget how that hunger felt.
Here are a few ideas to keep that fire stoked:
- Have a routine and hit those goals regularly: Sometimes we’d rather sleep in when we need to get up and workout, or stay out an extra few hours when we have something important to do in the morning. If it’s a habit to hit those goals, you’ll be more likely to just get and do what needs to be done, and once you start you soon start enjoying it!
- Use a vision board: Fill up a board or poster with images that inspire you to keep pushing with your goals, and update and add new images regularly to keep it fresh and exciting!
- Hang around people who want the same things: if you don’t know these people, meet them. If you are having trouble finding them in your neighbourhood, maybe try some groups online!
- Find your mentors: These don’t necessarily need to be people that you actually know, you can follow and be inspired be someone’s career or journey without actually having the chance to meet them!
Have a productive day!
The weather has frankly, been amazing this past week, and yesterday was no exception. So combine the gorgeous weather with a live band playing in the sunshine on this particular gorgeous Friday afternoon outside my office, and you can imagine I had to dig deep for the motivation to stay inside and work!
I’m also working some very big hours this weekend, so that left my Friday night to get anything I wanted done around the house out of the way. That meant yard work, packing and labelling a bunch of old things that I recently sold online to ship, and all house chores and actually making sure I have clean clothes to wear for the next week!
Needless to say my pizza tasted pretty delicious when it arrived for dinner…
I hope you’re having an amazing day, and feeling motivated to smash your goals today!
Days where I’m working at two jobs are always big days, and yesterday was no exception, so I was in grind mode up until in I got home at 11 pm for a cuddle with the furball and a few minutes of banter with my partner before collapsing into bed.
I hope your squeezing every second out of your day and loving it!
I had hoped to be in better physical shape by now, especially with summer looming here in NZ, and my trip to Las Vegas to attend 10X Growth Con in February! So here comes the extra cardio… but where to squeeze it in?
Last night I managed to squeeze it in by watching a movie with my partner, largely from my spin bike, and the rest while doing a couple of last minute bits before bed.
Gotta make it work!
I hope you’re having a fantastic and productive day today!
