It would seem fitting that this entry would come today, and maybe it’s just the vibes all around… but I have fallen in love…
With CAD software..
I had my very first fashion industry software class today which was a completely fresh introduction for me, and my-oh-my you dark little horse CAD.
The ideas for what I can create, now that I’m learning how to do it, are ENDLESS.
If you find yourself feeling a little left out without a Valentine this year, try falling in love with your dreams and your potential ♥
If you’re not living your dream, there’s a chance that at some point you’ve thought that if only there were more hours in the day, you’d still have plenty of time to spend on what you love after you get home from your day job.
Out of interest a did a little maths this morning…
If you spend:
- 8 hours sleeping, and
- 8 hours working to pay your bills
You still have 8 hours leftover to spend working on your dreams…
Interesting isn’t it?
So what have you been spending this time doing? Eating? Watching TV? Perhaps even travelling to work if you live quite a distance away?
What of these things could you do without, or reconfigure to maximize your free time to spend on your dreams?
Could you learn more about your craft with books or podcasts while you travel? Could you better plan your meals so that minimal time, effort and thought power is wasted here? What can you cook over a week that takes 15 minutes or less? Does it really have to be a fully cooked meal with all the trimmings?
Everyone is different, it’s up to you to determine what can stay, and what should absolutely go!
Are you wearing your life, or is it wearing you down?
You only get one life, go and get what you want, see what you want to see, and strut that catwalk of life.
So hit the pavement, hit the gym, hit the books, whatever it’s going to take to get there. You better work that life!
If you browse any bookshop, you’ll find the books broken up by categories. Where would your story be displayed? Romance? Action? Poetry?
Would it even be displayed at all? Or would you rather it be tucked away somewhere the back where people can’t make passing judgements on your cover?
Does it make you uncomfortable to think about it? If the answer is yes, then your probably not writing your true story. It’s not coming from your heart.
The good news is, that you can change your own story at any time! You may not have had any control over where it started, but you can choose where you want to go next.
Don’t be a reader in your own story. Take control. Be the Storyteller.
You CAN do it. You are capable of absolutely everything you heart and soul desires. We are all capable of amazing things, we just have to keep pushing goddamit!
You can have exactly what you want, but you have to start now. DON’T STOP until you get there.
I know my answer is yes.
Some think their answer to this question is a yes, but when the grind really gets going, they start to backpeddle.
This concept got me thinking today, because I have been soo incredibly guilty of this in the past, and yet right now I find myself in the middle of my busiest time of year, working from before sunrise to after sunset, half out of my mind, teetering on the edge of madness because I’m so tired, and I still know I don’t want to quit. If anything I want more… I just have to figure out how to make that happen.
I know, I know, it doesn’t sound very “healthy”…. You know what else isn’t healthy? Hating your life and where you find yourself, feeling the despair well up in you because you’re sitting in the middle of another social gathering you feel obliged to attend, trying to stop yourself thinking about how unhappy you are with where you life is, and how much work it’s going to take to turn it all around. At least I’m moving forward.
As painfully slow as I feel the progress is, I feel that it is in fact progress, and that I am moving in the right direction, at least for now.
So yes, I can in fact say that I do want it. I am 100% thirsty for success. What’s your answer? What do you want?
Have a fantastic and successful day today!
The weather has frankly, been amazing this past week, and yesterday was no exception. So combine the gorgeous weather with a live band playing in the sunshine on this particular gorgeous Friday afternoon outside my office, and you can imagine I had to dig deep for the motivation to stay inside and work!
I’m also working some very big hours this weekend, so that left my Friday night to get anything I wanted done around the house out of the way. That meant yard work, packing and labelling a bunch of old things that I recently sold online to ship, and all house chores and actually making sure I have clean clothes to wear for the next week!
Needless to say my pizza tasted pretty delicious when it arrived for dinner…
I hope you’re having an amazing day, and feeling motivated to smash your goals today!
